Following are some questions that customers ask Greg from time to time. Q 1. What if I don't have digital photos? A1. If you only have photographic prints then you can post these to Greg. He will make scanned copies and carefully return the originals to you. See Contact Us for the postal address. Q 2. What if I don't have any good photos can you still paint my pet portrait? A2. If you require assistance to take a good photograph of your pet, you should look at our Prepare Photos guide. If you need the assistance of a professional photographer you could have a look at this link. Q 3. Can you paint a different background to the one in the photo of my pet? A 3. Yes Greg likes to keep backgrounds uncluttered as they tend to show off your pet in a more focused manner. He can put in any background colors or elements that you would like. He can discuss this with you when he has received your order and before he proceeds with your painting. Make sure you send the background photos or suggestions when you order your painting. Q 4. Can I have more than one pet in the portrait or even a person? A 4. Yes Greg can paint into your pet portrait anything you like. Please bear in mind the more elements (pets, people, background or foreground objects) the more expensive your painting becomes, but Greg is happy to paint whatever you choose. Q 5. What about the waiting list, can I get my portrait done any faster? A 5. Everybody enters the que or waiting list as soon as their order form and 40% deposit are received. Do I need to get My Pet Painted pet portrait framed? A 7. Framing is not necessary as we use a Gallery Style canvas that is painted on all sides, essentially self-framing your painting. Our gallery styled canvas can save you about $200 in framing costs. However if you want your pet portrait framed then you can have you painting done on the Slimline canvas. See here for more info on Canvas Style. Q 8. Do you show me progress of my painting or provide a rough sketch first? A 8. Greg works directly from the photos you provide, essentially using this detail as his guide. He goes directly into paint when he begins your portrait and when it is ready for your inspection, he takes a digital photo and emails this to your for comments and or approval. Q 9. What about copyright, who owns it? A 9. Even though you are commissioning Greg for an original oil painting, the copyright and reproduction rights remain the property of the artist. No artwork can be reproduced without prior written expressed permission on part of the artist, Greg Gillespie. All text, artwork, website galleries and products are the specified ownership of the site owner and cannot be reproduced in any way whatsoever. Q10. The uploading of photos on the Order Form is very slow? A10. Depending on the size of your files, and how many you place in the zipped file, will determine the time it takes to upload your photos. Also the speed of your internet connection, whether it is broadband or dial up will have an effect on upload times. Please be patient as it may take several minutes. |
